Come and work in beautiful Swansea Bay, with fabulous coastline, outdoor pursuits, and mountain walking all within easy travelling distance.
It is a really exciting time for Swansea Bay physiotherapy services as we have secured investment to expand our team to work within SBUHB Virtual ward (VW) service.
This investment has highlighted the importance and value of physiotherapy in primary care and promotes a strong MDT approach to supporting patients in the community.
SBU values staff development and many of our senior team are educated to master's level, or above, affording fantastic opportunities for CPD.
We have long established links with both Cardiff University, for undergrad and post- graduate physiotherapy education, including the provision of student placements. More recently, we have had opportunities to develop new relationships with the School of Health Science, and School of Medicine at Swansea University, both in terms of accessing post-grad courses, supporting research projects, and providing teaching and education to medical students.
Main duties of the job
SBUHB Virtual Ward (VW) acts to provide safe and effective care for patients in their own home to reduce avoidable admissions and to facilitate early patient discharge from hospital.
The post holder will offer quality physiotherapy assessment and intervention to patients under the care of the VW which includes the Fracture Discharge Service (FDS) and Early Supported Discharge (ESD) team.
You will be working within an MDT that is passionate about providing high quality care in the patient's home, promoting independence through optimising function.
The successful post-holder will be expected to work flexibly within the core service working hours of 8am-6pm and contribute to 7 day working as required.
This is a community post and the ability to move independently around the area is essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
