We have an exciting opportunity for a professional, passionate and highly motivated Nurse or physiotherapist to join Dudley Continence service.
We are looking for an experienced Nurse or Physiotherapist who has a passion for bladder and bowel care and specialises in providing effective life changing treatments for those experiencing bladder, bowel and pelvic floor dysfunctions.
Main duties of the job
You will be joining an enthusiastic and forward-thinking continence team of specialist bladder and bowel nurses and pelvic health physiotherapists.
You will undertake community clinics and domiciliary work. You must be able to work autonomously and also in a supervisory role.
An ability to teach carers, clients and staff in bladder and bowel management is essential and excellent communication skills are required.
On-going specialist training and support is a key part of the team's ethos and informal visits to other specialist teams are encouraged to develop staff's specialist skills and to aid service improvement.

- Evidence of the ability to work as part of a team

Knowledge & Training

- Knowledge of the benefits of bladder training and pelvic floor exercise for adults with incontinence
- Shadowing experience of Uro-Gynae or continence clinics
Desirable
- Formal Training completed in: Internal Assessment of pelvic floor muscle (VE)
Qualifications & Education
Essential
- First level Registered General Nurse / degree in Physiotherapy
- Current registration with HCPC (physio) or NMC (nurse)
- Relevant post registration experience working in Pelvic health/ bladder and bowel dysfunction or continence care.
- Evidence of Continence/ pelvic health CPD
Desirable
- Evidence of assessor and supervision training

- Community experience OR outpatient clinic experience
- Extensive Band 5 experience in a variety of settings
- Proven ability to develop working relationships with other professionals across Primary and secondary care
- Show an ability to adapt to change.
- Ability to cope with occasional exposure to distressing/emotional situations.
- Competent computer skills
- Evidence of working to and achieving defined objectives
- Must be able to demonstrate appropriate responses to clinical need
