Barts Health is the largest NHS trust in the UK, it boasts 3 emergency departments, one of which is the Royal London Hospital. We are a major trauma centre and hyper acute stroke unit providing urgent specialist treatment to North East London and beyond. We offer a structured orientation and on-going mentorship support to guide your progress through the early stages of your Emergency nursing career. We follow the RCN national emergency nursing framework competencies. Our experienced PDN and senior nurse team will support you in achieving these competencies at level one, with a mapped pathway into our ED and trauma courses at level 2. Our Department offers the successful candidate a unique learning environment to enable the achievement of your learning objectives .
Main duties of the job
Our department is also able to offer several exciting secondment prospects including the Physician Response Unit. This opportunity, unique to our department, incorporates a nurse into the pre hospital MDT response unit . Nurses who successfully pass their development program will be integrated into our sister service the REACH (Rapid Emergency Assessment Coordination HUB) A pioneering service offering emergency care in the community. We encourage 'nurse champions' to take a lead in an area of care that interest you and support the team in project work for quality improvement.
You must have over six months' acute post registration experience with the skills and abilities to deliver high standards of care and have the resilience to meet the challenges of our busy and stimulating work environment.
