We have been at the forefront of championing the positive impact that digital innovation can have on mental health services and have been nationally recognised for our work in this area - winning the HSJ's 'Improving Mental Health Through Digital' award in 2023. A key part of our success has been combining our Digital and wider Improvement functions together.
We are now seeking to appoint a new Director of Digital & Improvement.
To succeed, you will be a senior leader with digital expertise gained within a healthcare setting, together with a strong track record of transformation and change. You will have successfully led digital innovation to improve service quality and effectiveness, drawing on QI methods, user centred design and other improvement frameworks. You will be an inspiring, collegiate, and compassionate leader who shares our values, with excellent people management skills and experience of building and developing highly effective teams.

Main duties of the job
You will report to our Executive Director for Digital and Transformation as an integral member of the Trust leadership team, ensuring that we have the right technology and data vision, strategy, and roadmap to enable our clinical and digital transformation. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading a large team of 80 colleagues, across two services: Improvement & Operations, and Technical & Data Platforms.
- Leveraging data, knowledge, and technology to improve clinical and operating model design across the Trust
- Driving innovation, product, and service development
- Delivering modern operational IT services and capability aligned to increasing expectations and needs.
- Playing a dynamic system leadership role across our wider health and care communities, specifically leading towards increased digital maturity.

- Masters' degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
- Professional registration (FEDIP Leading Practitioner level) or equivalent experience
- Evidence of sustained personal and professional development in health informatics

- Recent experience in a senior IT/Digital/Transformation leadership role within healthcare
- Experience of financial management of significant budgets
- Experience of implementing digital innovation to improve service quality and effectiveness aligning QI methods and other improvement frameworks
- Significant experience of leading and developing large cross-functional teams
- Experience of leading enterprise-wide programmes, operating and influencing effectively across the organisation and wider health and care environment
- Experience in integrating complex cross corporate processes, data models and understanding the potential of technologies (in both operational and IT terms) and the issues involved in their adoption. (NB This doesn't mean you need to be a practitioner).
- Demonstrated experience in strategy and strategic planning, organisation design and development aligned to new/reimagined capabilities focusing on user needs
