We are a busy 23-bed Acute unit split into male and female wards.
At Woodlands Centre for Acute Care we care for people with acute mental health problems until they are ready to leave hospital and live in the community.
Woodlands has undergone recent structural changes in order to provide a safe environment for both patients and staff. Current feedback from patients tells us that the provision is a great improvement and allows staff to be out in the ward environment with the patients and have the time to nurse, which has a major positive impact on patient recovery time. Patient C's comments stated that 'this is the best inpatient stay I have had and now I am ready to go home feeling heard and valued'.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team undertaking assessments of patients with complex mental health needs developing care and recovery plans in collaboration with the patients and their families/carers.
In conjunction with the team, you will assess and manage risks through assessment regularly reviewing and working in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary teams.
You will act as a Primary Nurse providing clinical and managerial leadership on the ward, whilst also supervising junior staff and trainees.
About us
In return for your skills and expertise we can offer you continued training and development, variety and a rewarding challenge and the opportunity to work within a friendly and supportive team.
You will receive high quality supervision, support and training to further develop your skills and experience in a community mental health setting working as part of a large integrated MDT supporting people with a wide range of complex mental health conditions and needs.
The role is varied, fast paced, interesting and at times challenging but also highly rewarding.
Please be aware the Trust do not offer sponsorship for Temporary Staffing (Bank), therefore applicants without the right to work in the UK will not be accepted .
