Inflammatory Bowel Disease Nurse Specialist
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Nursing team for a full-time Band 6 Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Nurse Specialist. Working at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust alongside a well- established highly regarded and supportive IBD nursing team.
Gastro intestinal experience is essential, this may be medical or surgical, but applicants are not expected to have in depth knowledge of IBD as training will be provided.

Main duties of the job
After training and with continued support the post holder will commence nurse led clinics, undertaking clinical assessment, management planning with the patient and evaluation of patient care. They will offer telephone advice and support to patients in between appointments and coordinate their care between primary and secondary care settings.
They will be expected to make clinical assessments and decisions about patient care and after completion of non-medical prescribing course prescribing medications within their sphere of competence.
