Development & progression are important within our Podiatry Service in Gloucestershire, due to recent progression we will have 2 Band 5 posts available.
If you are self-motivated, enthusiastic, keen to develop your career in a supportive team then this is the position for you.
We have structured mentorship programmes offering rotations in MSK, nail surgery, the diabetic foot and wound management all of which will support in the development of your professional skills and knowledge.
In this role you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, carrying out treatments and formulating individual management plans for your own caseloads across a number of community locations. Domiciliary care is also provided by our team in certain circumstances, with training and support this will be built into this role. The ability to be flexible and adaptable in changing your working location as demand requires is desirable.
Excellent communication is essential in this role as this will facilitate close & productive working with colleagues within Podiatry and other services who may be involved in a patient's care. It is also essential when communicating with service users and their carers regarding care and treatment planning.
Main duties of the job
As a Community Podiatrist within Gloucestershire Podiatry Service, you will be expected to work with the Specialist Community Podiatrist Team providing high quality podiatrist care.
You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing and evaluating podiatrist care to patients with a variety of clinical needs.
Within this post you will be expected to develop your clinical skills to become an autonomous independent practitioner. As a Community Podiatrist you will have a basic level of knowledge and skills that are gained through your Professional Degree, your knowledge and skills will be further developed within variety of clinical settings. This will be complemented with both practical and theoretical knowledge.
