Sister/Charge Nurse

Main duties of the job
- To provide the highest standard of individualised and holistic patient care, in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team.
- Work collaboratively with the ED Nursing, Medical and Operations team to provide care that is safe and effective.
- Supports the example set by the senior sisters/charge nurses to act as a senior nurse providing organisation managerial support to the multi-professional team
- To act as a role model to junior members of staff
- To work within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct, trust policies, guidance and procedures to ensure safe working practice of self and others.
- To take charge of the Emergency Department when required to do so
- Strive to work within the national targets for Emergency Departments
- To line manage a group of Emergency Department Assistants and Staff Nurses
- To engage with Quality Improvement Projects to enhance patient and staff experience
