We are looking to recruit a Theatre Practitioner (Anaesthetics & Recovery) to join our Theatre Team based at Leigh Hospital. We are looking to recruit to a full time 37.5 hour post.

If you feel you have the skills and attributes to join our team which work mainly Monday to Friday over 4 days then this is the role for you.

An accredited University course in Anaesthetics is essential. You will also be required to have a HCPC registration.

Evidence of qualifications will be requested at interview and during compliance checks.

Main duties of the job

  • Acting as a catalyst in questioning expert professional knowledge within the team influencing application of theory in practice.
  • Identifying, maintaining, evaluating and improving the quality of care through application of evidence based practice within the clinical area.
  • Developing sound clinical skills and competency within their defined field working without direct supervision to ensure the application of professional standards in all aspects of care delivery within the clinical environment.
  • Demonstrating awareness of the appropriateness of transferable skills when providing individualised high quality patient care

The post holder will demonstrate responsibility for:

Knowledge

Essential

  • Up to date knowledge of current clinical and professional issues
  • Knowledge of evidence based practice
  • Understanding of research/audit.


Desirable

  • Sound understanding of role and responsibilities relating to SFA duties.


Skills

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain and improve standards of care

Experience

  • Demonstrate ability as professional role model.

  • Experience in the application of SFA duties.


Qualifications

Essential

  • RN 1st Level with university module care of the anaesthetised patient.
  • Registered ODP


Desirable

  • ENB 998/CG7307/100/Mentorship in practice
  • ENB
  • Anaesthetic qualification
  • Specialists Skills Course.
