Community Staff Nurse 37.5 hrs
Are you motivated and keen to develop skills working with children and families in the community? If so, this is an exciting time to be considering a career as a Community Staff Nurse in School Nursing within Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust Children and Families Team.
The School Nursing Service supports school aged children attending education provision or being home schooled in Hampshire. You will contribute to assessment, planning and delivery of commissioned Public Health Services
If you are a registered NMC Nurse and looking to join a thriving, innovative and developing service which puts children, young people, and their families at its core, then this is the job for you. There will also be Development opportunities to undertake the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse course.
This role requires highly motivated and compassionate Community Staff Nurses who can demonstrate excellent communication skills, work as part of a skill mix team to enable the excellent delivery of commissioned aspects of the Healthy Child Programme. You will be required to work alongside partner agencies to achieve best health outcomes for school aged children and their families across Hampshire.

Main duties of the job
The primary role of the Community Staff Nurse (CSN) is to support in delivering the commissioned elements of the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) (DH 2009) as a member of the 0-19 public health nursing service (Health Visiting / School Nursing).
They will provide responsive, holistic, quality, family centred public health outcomes in line with the 4-5-6 model of the Healthy Child Programme including the high impact areas.

The transformation will happen in staggered stages Hampshire CAMHS, part of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust joined Southern Health in February 2024, with Isle of Wight NHS Trust mental health and community services transitioning in early May 2024. The final combination of Southern Health and Solent Trusts is anticipated to occur in July 2024, when the new organisation will be formed.
Our new Trust will continue to cater to the unique needs of different communities, making healthcare across the county more accessible, as well as offering staff more opportunities for career development, training and partnership working.
