Are you an experienced finance lead looking for a new challenge? Would you like to lead the Financial Services team within a busy Acute NHS Trust?
If so, then we want to hear from you. We are a team on the up, having received our HFMA Future Focused Finance Accreditation level 1 last Summer, and having been shortlisted for numerous local and national staff and team awards over the last 12 months.

In the finance department we are firmly on track to meet the One NHS Finance Level 2 Accreditation for Excellence in the next 12 months. You will be offered a tailored Personal Development Plan to meet your needs and achieve your ambitions within NHS Finance. We run internal management courses and are aligned to the Financial Staff Development Network, the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the South West Finance Academy, meaning that we are able to access multiple courses and resources to assist you in being able to excel in your new role.
This is a high profile post integral to the success of the organisation. The post holder is expected to work at a high level in the organisation demonstrating credibility with the Trust Directors, Senior Management Team and Clinicians, and at a senior level with external bodies e.g. System partners and Regulators.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Financial Officer, the post holder has the following key areas of responsibility:
- To operationally manage and develop the Financial Services team, as well as contractual management of the outsourced procurement and payroll functions and relationship management of NHS Shared Business Services.
- To provide high-level support and advice on all financial accounting matters. This includes leading on the production of the annual accounts and external financial reporting, treasury management, strategic financial planning and capital planning, including all aspects of our PFI.
- To deliver all financial accounting requirements in a professional and efficient manner, to high standards and in accordance with Statutory Standards and Trust policies and procedures.
- To lead on financial governance, audit and counter fraud issues including the maintenance and monitoring of Standing Financial Instructions
- To lead the financial element of the Trust Capital Programme ensuring effective prioritisation, monitoring and escalation systems are in place to address the needs of the organisation.

- Experience of strategic service planning and redesign.

- Working Experience and knowledge of PFI contracts/service provision.
- Experience of working on complex projects as part of a project team.
