We are recruiting for a Neuro-Oncology Specialist Support Nurse who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Oncology Nurse to join the CNS team in Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.

You will work alongside the current Clinical Nurse specialists in providing support and symptom management for patients with Primary Brain Cancer. The post holder will support patients who are undergoing treatment at MVCC.

In addition, you will receive a High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of �4,314 and a maximum payment of �5,436 per annum pro rata.

Main duties of the job

As a Neuro-Oncology Specialist Support nurse you will be responsible for the provision of high quality, patient focused care and responsible for assessing and supporting patients undergoing treatment in MVCC.

You will work closely with the Clinical Oncologists and the wider MDT.

Act as a key worker for patients.

Provide specialist knowledge and support to patients by phone or in person while in clinic.

Act as liaison when required.

Have the ability to carry out Holistic needs assessments with patients at specific time points within their journey.

Manage an independent workload.

Qualifications/Training

Essential

  • Registered Nurse educated to Degree level
  • Post registration qualification in speciality or willingness to undertake
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Teaching or mentoring qualification
  • Releveny experience in surgery
