The Royal Surrey PMO Team supports both the Digital and Transformation portfolios of work, with a significant number of programmes and projects for delivery, in a number of phases and key priority areas across the Trust.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will bring both organisational skills and rigor alongside the humility and tenacity to succeed. Previous experience of working in the NHS is not required as we are looking for people with a passion to succeed as part of a well-respected team within the organisation.
Main duties of the job
As a Project Support Officer, you will play a vital part in the delivery of our transformation and digital journey by providing data analysis, hands on project support activities as well as administrative support to a number of Digital and Transformation programmes and projects within our portfolio.

The Transformation & Digital PSO is a member of the Transformation & Digital Portfolio Management Office (PMO) Team, that sits within the Transformation & Digital Directorate.
The PMO Team supports both the Digital and Transformation portfolios of work for FY24/25, with a significant number of programmes and projects for delivery, in a number of phases and key priority areas.
The primary purpose and key objectives of the PSO role are to support the overarching governance and assurance process required to assure that the Digital and Transformation programmes and projects are/remain on-track to deliver in-year, aligned to the delivery metrics agreed (collating and maintaining data in a universal form), and also providing hands-on support to Programme and Project Managers with delivery of specific tasks, activities and/or small/discreet aspects of live programmes and projects. Typically, a PSO will have portfolio of 3 or 4 live programmes and projects to support at any one time. Typical programme and project support activities required are detailed below.

- An awareness of the NHS, it's current plans and policies
- Knowledge of programme and/or project management office structures and systems
- Experience of programme and/or project management/ administration and support
- Knowledge of programme and/or project documentation, it's purpose and completion across the lifecycle
- An awareness of programme and/or project management tools, e.g. PRINCE2 and process mapping/business analysis

- An understanding of the complexities of working in an acute hospital
- Experience of working, supporting others, and problem solving in a PMO environment
