The post holder will provide senior clinical leadership and be an inspirational and motivational individual .As a theatre manager you will be responsible for the utilisation and efficiency of all elective operating lists, ensuring the full use of theatre capacity. Ensure the team provide effective safe and high quality care for all patients prior to, during, and post-surgical proceduresin all pathways by maintaining and leading governance systems for clinical standards
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide managerial leadership and deliver a range of measurable outcomes, and be accessible, visible, clinically skilled and demonstrate a strong professional presence to manage teams within their remit. Transparent and accountable management of the theatre budget, line management of all staff associated within the Peri-operative team. The post holder will work as a key member within the operations team, responsible for the efficient running of all operating lists, including patient flow through theatres, on time starts and inter-case downtime. Facilitate and lead team working, innovation and practice development.Lead service development and change management processes within peri-op, including preparation of business cases.Encourage practice development initiatives, encouraging innovation and development and ensuring that teams participate in patient safety and quality improvement programmes

Named budget holder for the area of responsibility, maximising the use of resources and delivering a balanced budget. Lead the contribution to the delivery of the Business Units efficiency target and prioritise cost pressures.Manage demand and capacity in relation to theatre performance to ensure access appropriate utilisation of all resources.Ensure the workforce work to deliver the needs of the service and are aware of the operational priorities. Liaise with all Business units to ensure full use of theatre capacity.Develop a theatre performance dashboard and engage all stakeholders. Ensure robust processes to maximise efficiency and meet Directorate objectives.Responsible for the procurement of all theatre equipment, maintaining equipment inventory, ensuring managed within given budget and in line with national and local safety guidelines. In collaboration with procurement and service manager, ensure best value for money is obtained on all purchases.To be the contract manager for sterile services and involved in procurement for sterile services. Engage clinicians to achieve optimal decisions for overall patient care.Deliver theatre productivity targets to ensure maximum utilisation of resources.Ensure theatre is able to respond to the changing needs of the Business units in a timely and cost effective way. Accountable for the delivery of the complete patient journey from pre-assessment clinic through to discharge from theatre, optimising theatre resource and ensuring a positive and safe patient experience. Through experience, provide specialist theatre management skills to ensure effective and efficient theatre performance.Pro-actively benchmark external providers in relation to delivery of key performance indictors and innovation in service delivery.
