Do you work in the North West London sector or are you looking to relocate to London? Neurosciences and Stroke services at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust have exciting secondment opportunities available. These would suit a band 7 OT looking for further clinical development, or a band 6 OT looking to challenge yourself. Our teams are supported by clinical experts at a band 8 level. We have access to research opportunities, quality improvement and innovation projects that are well supported by our senior therapy leadership team.
We have secondments within the Major Trauma & Neurosurgery team at St Mary's Hospital and the Stroke Hyper Acute & Acute Stroke team at Charing Cross Hospital. Depending on applicants preference this can also be offered as a fixed term contract. As a successful candidate you will have the opportunity to provide high quality Occupational Therapy to patients with a wide range of neurological conditions whilst growing your specialist experience and leadership skills in a welcoming and supportive environment.
You will receive regular supervision from the lead therapists to support your clinical and professional development. We actively support continuing personal and professional development through an established performance development review (PDR) system, in-service training and external courses.

Main duties of the job
- To support the provision of neuro occupational therapy assessment and treatment of patients with acute, chronic, and life-limiting conditions to enable optimum functioning. You will have access to a wide neuro specialist medical team to discuss complex cases to optimize patient care.
- To ensure a high standard of clinical care for the patients under your management and those of more junior staff. Enabling the provision of a comprehensive and appropriate occupational therapy service to stroke and neuro-trauma patients.
- To provide leadership to the in-patient neurosciences, stroke and trauma team alongside other band 7 neuro specialist OTs and the clinical therapy leads.
- To support service development within the team and present a positive and inspirational role model for all team members.
- To develop close working relationships and service links with the Clinical Team Lead Therapists from our other services. You will be part of the band 7 peer group for OTs working within neurosciences which consists of four large teams (neuro rehabilitation, stroke, neurology & neurosurgery and major trauma).

- State registration with the Health Professions Council
- Evidence of CPD through maintenance of a portfolio, especially in the relevant clinical area
- Clinical Educators course or equivalent

Experience

- Significant recent clinical experience in relevant clinical area
- Evidence of a broad base of clinical experience at Band 6 level or equivalent
