There is an exciting opportunity to join the Specialist Children's and Young People's Services sub directorate as the Head of Bexley Children's Therapy Services. The successful post holder will provide strategic and operational leadership to the Children's Therapy Services in Bexley Borough, to meet the needs of children, young people and families and staff. The Therapy Services include Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. The post holder will ensure continued and co-ordinated service delivery and development, including high quality evidence based and integrated approaches.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will manage the Therapy budgets and be responsible for management of external contracts. This includes the non-NHS budget for services provided to other agencies, and the post holder will represent the service at a Trust / multi-agency level.
The post holder will hold the responsibility for clinical governance across the Therapy Services including audit, research and development initiatives. This will include devising service plans with the Therapy Leads, taking into account service transformation, user views and leading on the development of professional polices / standards, implementing these according to service needs.
The post holder will be responsible for line managing the Service Leads and will work with support from the Head of Profession.
Clinically, the post holder will provide Highly Specialist assessment, diagnosis and care planning with Children and Young People in their specialist area, and support parents, clients and other professionals in all issues related to client management.
