Swansea Bay UHB Adult Speech and Language Therapy Department are currently recruiting to bank roles within our dynamic and supportive Adult Speech and Language Therapy team based in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.
We are looking for registrant Speech and Language Therapists to join our bank register to support service delivery across a range of communication and dysphagia caseloads in various specialities and settings. Candidates should be autonomous practitioners who share the team's passion for delivering high quality care and embrace the Health Board's values of caring for each other, working together and always improving. Band 6 candidates will be expected to manage dysphagia caseloads autonomously. Candidates with an enhanced level of relevant clinical skills and experience may be considered for a band 7 role.
You will be well supported by the department's clinical and team leads and excellent administrative support. You will also have access to our well established Videofluoroscopy and FEES services.
Main duties of the job
Post holders will provide and support a high standard of care within Speech and Language Therapy, undertaking all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and be responsible for providing a specialist service comprising assessment, management and treatment for adults with communication and swallowing difficulties dependent on specific role.
You will manage a defined caseload of patients using evidence based/patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions, including discharge planning and facilitation.
