St Lawrence ward is situated in Kent and Canterbury Hospital in the beautiful historic city of Canterbury.
We pride ourselves as a team, reflecting the Trust values, promoting & facilitating a prompt safe and efficient discharge, through collaborative multi-disciplinary team working.
Ideally, the candidate should be a registered nurse, however students awaiting their PIN are welcome to apply.
The successful candidate will support the Ward Manager and the ward team in the day to day running of the ward and will help to provide excellent standards of care to our patient group. You will be required to embrace the challenge of working in a highly demanding environment where excellent customer service skills and attention to detail are paramount. You will be part of an exciting, friendly team working together in a fast moving, ever changing environment.
A busy ward of 24 beds with a wide range of patients following a fit for discharge programme. We believe in developing our team with in-house training and simulation and support for further professional development. We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated individual, to work alongside a team of nursing staff, therapists and the discharge team, to promote a safe discharge , encouraging patient's independence and individuality.

Provide professional leadership, advice and guidance to junior nurses and healthcare assistants and foster collaborative partnerships with other disciplines.
Assist in the development of clinical protocols ensuring that these are reviewed in accordance with the needs of the service in conjunction with the Ward/Unit manager
Act as the identified nurse for our patients by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating their care
Supervise more junior members of staff in giving and maintaining high standards of care
Demonstrate the ability to take charge of the ward in the absence of a more senior member of staff
Demonstrate leadership in progression of the patient pathway.
