Are you passionate about training, educating and empowering a team to care for their patients within our neonatal unit?
The post holder will be working as part of the multidisciplinary team who will demonstrate expertise within the neonatal service, providing advice, education and support to staff in the neonatal unit and the wider MDT within the ODN/LMNS
City neonatal unit is a 29 bedded unit at a level 2. We have 5 ITU beds, 5 HDU and 19 Special Care.
Main duties of the job
Provide leadership and expert advice on clinical practice and developing clinical practices in conjunction with the Director of Midwifery and the Consultant Midwife
The role focuses on delivery of high quality skilled Neonatal advice, practice and evidence based care for the neonatal team of all levels and skills. The emphasis of the role will be to respond to neonatal practice deficiencies, supporting neonatal nurses in developing competencies and maintaining an accepted standard of care.

The post holder will formulate learning objectives, plan and participate in teaching programmes in conjunction with the Division and Higher Education Institutions for both qualified and unqualified staff in either the classroom or clinical area.
The role will be underpinned by contemporary neonatal nursing evidence, good practice initiatives and clinical excellence whilst working in all settings and meeting variations in shift patterns.
The post holder will work along side the ODN/LMNS for collaborative working and be pivotal in supporting new policies and guidance to support further education with the neonatal unit whilst leading the development of clinical practice with in the Division ensuring it develops in line with national and regional policy and innovation, ensuring it is at the forefront of practice development and is evidence based.
