An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and experienced Project Support Officer to join the AI & Digital Health Research and Policy Group. The group, focused on responsible innovation of AI health technologies, addresses four pillars including safety, effectiveness, equity and sustainability. We work in collaboration with health, academic, industry and policy institutions around the world, bringing diverse and interdisciplinary teams together to build best practices that can be translated internationally.
This role will contribute to and coordinate the administrative and patient/public-facing aspect of the
portfolio, alongside research and clinical colleagues as well as working across campus with the University of Birmingham.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will support the Research Portfolio Manager to provide a comprehensive and full ranging project support service to the AI and Digital Health Research and Policy Group working within Research, Development and Innovation. Working in conjunction with University of Birmingham colleagues, internal and external collaborators to provide an efficient service to our network. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a multi-faceted role with a diverse team.
The successful candidate will be expected to adapt to, plan and manage a range of complex duties including, but not limited to, event coordination, team meeting and diary management and the facilitation of Patient and Public Involvement work. The post holder will organise their own workload and that of others to meet deadlines and respond professionally to enquires both internally and externally to the organisation this will require excellent communication, planning and organisational skills. It is essential that the post holder exercises initiative and judgement using acquired skills and knowledge, always maintaining confidentiality.
The candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate information to a wide range of staff groups including, patients and the public, academic researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers. The post holder is expected to prioritise their own workload and develop a good understanding of project management and related techniques.
