Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow (ST5 or above) in Urogynaecology at UHCW NHS Trust.This post is for 12 months, on a fixed term basis with the opportunity for extension.
This post has been designed to provide the post holder with additional skills training in both the sub-specialty of Urogynaecology and an opportunity to participate in service development within pelvic floor medicine.
The appointee will be able to register for an M.D as the post is extendable to 2 years, subject to annual assessment of performance. There will be a supervisor for M.D from Warwick Medical School & Prof Siobhan Quenby will be the second supervisor.

Main duties of the job
The weekly job plan would consist of a Urogynaecology clinic, a specialist interest clinic (OASIS) and a Urodynamics clinic. Outpatient clinics are provided at both University Hospital and Rugby hospital site. There would be a 1 in 4 PEARL Clinic (joint urogynae & colorectal) and 1 in 3 FOCUS Clinic (outpatient cystoscopy diagnostic and therapeutic). There are 1 labour ward session with averaged out 4 dedicated sessions for research, audit and clinical governance per week. There are also 2 Urogynaecology theatre lists on alternate weeks and finally dedicated Emergency Gynae Unit sessions.
Previous experience in research and audit will be an advantage and the post holder will be expected to participate in research projects and audits relevant to Urogynaecology. This post offers the opportunity of undertaking the ATSM in Urogynaecology and Vaginal Surgery.
The Clinical Fellow will be required to contribute towards service development which includes supervising the Urogynaecology work areas and junior trainees. Additionally, there would be a requirement to participate in the out of hours middle grade On-Call rota.
The Clinical Fellow will be accountable for improving and complying with infection control practices.
