An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic midwife to lead our existingcontinuity of care teams and assist in transforming maternity services towards a shared vision to scale up our model of care services at South Tees. The transformational role will lead and assist in the coordination of services for women from all geographical locations that include women from ethnic minority backgrounds and will include areas of social deprivation, with a particular focus on care of vulnerable women and birthing people in the community.
We are looking for a dynamic, passionate and innovative individual to lead the transformation of the Maternity services here at South Tees, building on the existing project plan in place, working closely with our Midwifery Matrons, Consultant Midwife and Senior management team.
Main duties of the job
The post will lead midwifery teams including the Indigo team for vulnerable women to deliver the Better Births ambition working together across organisational boundaries and systems. They will assist in leading a service that is kind, professional and safe, offering women informed choice and a better experience by personalising their care. In order to deliver this vision you will lead midwifery teams including the transformation of the vulnerabilities team, its staffing and adjust and adapt service models in line with the trusts vision. We realise that one size does not fit all and need you to assist in developing a plan which is right for our unit and fits with our population needs. You will need to have excellent leadership skills to support the teams to deliver high quality care and open to embracing positive change and transformation in order to meet the needs of the women in the local population and women within the vulnerable and extra needs categories. You will support women choosing to birth within an a variety of environments, setting a shared vision to improve our provision of care, in a model which is delivered and transformed to meet the needs of the population of the trust.
You should be an enthusiastic, confident clinical practitioner with experience in various midwifery settings. Your ability to influence others and work with stakeholders will be integral to this role.

You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme, and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. This programme aims to:o Explore leadership within the NHSo Promote Trust Values and Behaviourso Develop your Leadership effectiveness and skillso Practitioner level in quality improvement, equipping you with the skills to champion, lead and complete quality improvement within your role
After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.

- Knowledge of public health issues, national & local initiatives.
- Aware of current issues and recent documents relating to Maternity Care and the Public Health agenda
- Relevant knowledge regarding the principles as set out within the Better Births review and the NHS long term plan relating to Continuity of Carer.
- An ability to compile complex written information
