An opportunity has arisen at Barts Health NHS Trust for a 12 month fixed term appointment. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic member of staff to join our team in Medical & Dental Education working mainly at St. Bartholomew's Hospital in West Smithfield and jointly with the team at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, London.The role involves working closely with trainee doctors, educational and clinical supervisors, education leads and external organisations and regulators such as Health Education England, to ensure education and training is of a high quality and meets GMC (General Medical Council) standards. The post holder will work with the wider team to ensure our doctors are able to access a comprehensive range of experiences which will enable them to gain the competencies necessary to complete their training programme.
Main duties of the job
The post is responsible for providing the development of administrative systems and functions to support the delivery of education and training for medical students, junior doctors in training and consultant supervisors at St. Bartholomew's Hospital, to meet Trust and regulators requirements and in line with contractual agreements with our educational commissioners.The post covers a range of activities including the co-ordination and delivery of monthly junior doctors' corporate and international medical graduate inductions, local faculty groups, committees, courses, examinations, and educational events, for both Postgraduate and Undergraduate training programmes.

Job responsibilities
The job holder will support the Director of Medical Education in delivering various Postgraduate and Undergraduate improvement projects and work streams. This will include: -
attendance at internal and external meetings, supporting both Undergraduate medical students, Postgraduate trainees, Physician Associate students and Trust grade and SAS doctors
supporting the site Director of Medical Education, Deputy Directors of Medical Education, Foundation Programme Director and Undergraduate Associate Dean
supporting the Simulation and Clinical Skills Unit on site as required
supporting site based educational activities, such as local Induction, Local Faculty Groups, OSCEs etc.
To administer the Relocation application process for Royal London and St Bartholomews hospitals.
The job holder will be expected to work with colleagues on other site-based Education teams as part of a network of shared learning centres across the Trust, with common systems and processes able to support a full range of education and development activities across all professional groups.
The successful candidate will be conscientious, proactive and keen to learn. They will have shown some degree of experience or knowledge of medical education in their application and interview.
