A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for ONE regional band 7 full time Fixed Term (12 months) Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) Clinical Nurse Specialists providing a tertiary service covering 6 Health Boards throughout South East and West Wales. We are looking to recuit to the West Wales post covering Hywel Dda, Powys and Swansea Bay Health Boards. The development of a HCC service is a new service development which will significantly improve patient care and experience.
We are looking to appoint a nurse with experience and demonstrable interest in caring for people requiring care on a cancer pathway. The post holders will work as part of dedicated highly specialised hepatology teams with strong links to local cancer lead nurses, oncology, hepatobiliary and interventional radiology teams locally and regionally.
The post holders will be an integral part of The HCC MDT ensuring relevant patients are listed, presented and the outcomes communicated with the relevant team.
Main duties of the job
The aim of the role is to set up and deliver a seamless pathway of patient care from point of suspicion to treatment outcomes following the HCC single Cancer pathway. The overarching aim is to improve overall patient experience from shared decision making to survivorship acting as a key worker to this patient group.
You will work closely with the Hepatologists and Hepatology CNS locally and regionally ensuring clear communication and documentation is completed in keeping with Health Board Policy and adhering to confidentiality.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
