An opportunity has arisen to join our friendly Hayes Ward (formerly Grange Ward) as a Band 5 Staff Nurse. The ward is a 30-bedded unit that provides care for acute elderly patients with various medical illnesses. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will deliver a high quality of care and support our patients to enable them to achieve a safe discharge home or into a care setting more relevant to their needs.

We are looking for hardworking, motivated, and caring nurses to join our team. The post holder should be a team player, have good communication skills, and be able to deliver a high quality of care whilst working with the Trust's CARES framework.

An interview date is yet to be confirmed.

Main duties of the job

  • Participate in all ward activities as an effective team member, supporting the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse and Sister, taking delegated team leadership responsibilities.
  • To assess care needs, and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • To teach and supervise qualified and unqualified staff, and to act as a role model to junior staff.
  • To take responsibility and accountability for a group of patients.
  • Ensure that research based nursing care within the ward is of a high standard and in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures. By monitoring patient care, supervising juniors, and evaluating the care that is delivered.
  • Maintain individual patient care plans, evaluating and updating them as necessary to ensure that the patient's physical, social and psychological needs are met.
