This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Diabetes Specialist Nurse.
This is a new service working with Primary Care to improve diabetes outcomes through education and joint working.
You will be jointly responsible for managing the service and team and there will be opportunities for you to shape the service going forwards. This will include the setting up of nurse led and locality clinics. The service will have the support of a Diabetes Consultant.
Although based at the Diabetes Centre at the King Edward VII Hospital in Windsor you will work primarily with Primary Care Healthcare Professionals in practice.

- Registered Nurse - Level 1
- Post qualifying Diploma/Degree or equivalent experience (or currently undertaking).
- Teaching and Assessing Qualification e.g. ENB 998, or equivalent.
- Further recognised training in diabetes care e.g. ENB 928 or equivalent
- Experience of facilitating structured patient group education
- Experience of facilitating Health Care Professional Education
Continuous Professional Development
Essential
- Evidence of further professional qualification/development in Diabetes Care to master's level or equivalent or willingness to undertake
- Evidence of operational management of small teams
Desirable
- Management or leadership qualification
- Non-medical prescribing qualification or willingness to undertake
Previous Experience
Essential
- Minimum 5 years post registration experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Diabetes Specialist Nurse
- Experience of autonomous & multi-disciplinary working
- Experience of training nurses and other health professionals
- Experience of audit/research /project management

- Up to date clinical and scientific knowledge of the management of diabetes mellitus
- Presentation skills
