ACCT Education are looking for an enthusiastic educator with Critical Care experience to join our team.

We seek dynamic, dedicated individuals ready to enhance the practical critical care skills and competence of our dedicated clinical team. As a Clinical Educator within ACCT, your role will be pivotal in supporting development, delivery, and assessment in a range of both accredited and non-accredited educational programs.

In collaboration with fellow educators and healthcare professionals, you'll establish a dynamic learning environment for registered and non-registered clinical colleagues. Your role will focus on facilitating clinical competency achievement for all levels of the multidisciplinary team.

Ongoing support and development for your educational expertise will be provided, empowering you to offer coaching and pastoral support in this specialised education field.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the role include:

Support the development of new policies relating to corporate induction, mandatory training and specific clinical tasks.

Undertake a role in the implementation of the Care Certificate for new Healthcare/Critical Care Assistants and identify means of addressing further educational needs that may arise.

Work closely with the Clinical Managers to support the Critical Care Nurse progression pathway.

Support the Nursing Associate role within Critical Care working proactively to ensure their learning and competence needs are met.

Be responsive to the needs of learners and take action to improve their experience.

Work proactively with the learning and development department to ensure that the standards identified from national bodies such as CQC, NHSLA, HESW are maintained and developed to a standard of excellence

Develop new competency frameworks in line with national and local developments in clinical policy and practice.

Work with the Learning and development department to ensure that key performance indicators regarding the provision of education at RCHT are met and developed to a standard of excellence.

Assist in Recruitment activities where required. This may include hosting a recruitment day.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Be able to teach and communicate with a wide variety of staff from a range of professional and occupational groups.

Possess a teaching qualification/willingness to achieve this within a defined timescale.

Have achieved STEP 3 in Adult Critical Care.

Possess 60 credit post registration Critical Care Award in accordance with GPIC standards/ or willing to achieve this within a specified timescale.

  • 5 years post registration experience in theatres/recovery
  • Assessor/Supervisor/Mentor
  • HCPC/NMC registered
  • Holds bachelors degree in health related subject/willing to complete


Desirable

  • BLS Instructor
  • Moving and Handling Key worker/instructor
  • Evidence of working in an academic setting
  • Completion of PGCAP/PGCE
