Critical Care is a developing speciality and undertaking Critical Care research presents unique challenges. It is however essential to develop an evidence base to guide practice and improve care and outcomes for critically ill patients. Undertaking research also generates income for the unit, being either fixed annual payments or a fee per patient basis.
We look after both level 2 High Dependency patients and level 3 Intensive Care patients (HDU/ICU) We offer a friendly and supportive working environment where education is seen as a priority. We would like you to join our team to provide excellent, compassionate care to all our critically ill patients and their families. We have a wonderful multidisciplinary team (MDT) integrated within our unit.

- NMC Registration
- Qualification in Critical Care Nursing (60 credits)
- GCP certificate or willingness to undertake.

- Leadership Course
- Assessing and mentoring qualification

- Substantial post registration Critical Care Experience.
- Good understanding of research. Previous research trials and audit experience.
- Conversant with DoH Research Governance Framework for health and Social care, ICH GCP and European Union Clinical Trials Directive.
