This is an exciting new position for a Senior Pharmacy Technician working in Patient Safety. This postholder will work closely with the Medication Safety Officer & Pharmacy Governance Lead, and Medicines Management Nurse, to make significant contributions to the delivery of patient safety and medication safety strategies across the organisation. This is an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician with hospital experience to develop their skills and knowledge in a highly specialised role.
At South Tees Pharmacy, we are committed to the development of the Pharmacy Technician workforce and can offer an array of training and development opportunities for this postholder including training in Restorative Just Culture, Human Factors, and the Patient Safety Incident Framework.
Main duties of the job
This role will include leading on patient safety related audits and associated action plans, investigations of medicines related incidents against the Trust's Patient Safety Incident Response Framework, contribution to medicines management assurance rounds in wards and departments across the organisation, and involvement in patient safety related education & training, and promotional campaigns including 'medicines safety weeks'.

- NVQL3 and BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent.
- Pharmacy Technician registered with the GPhC.
- Nationally recognised Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician qualification.

- Qualification in leadership

- Able to work well independently and part of a team
- Able to plan, prioritise, and organise own workload as well as that of others
