ECT clinic at Foss Park are looking for an enthusiastic Mental Health Nurse to join our team.

Main duties include:
The MDT team consists of medical staff, Nursing Staff , Anaesthetist. ODP and PACU ( recovery Nurse) due to this we are able to offer a comprehensive assessment of each patient and their individual needs and manage these safely.
Each clinic begins with a team meeting and Patient Safety Information discussion. Highlighting any potential risks and individual patient needs. This ensures a high standard of communication within the team.
We liaise and work closely with our York Hospital Trust colleagues to ensure patient safety and a high standard of individual care during all stages of ECT.

Job responsibilities
This role involves working in a busy ECT Clinic supporting patients throughout the Treatment and recovery process of treatment. Offering treatment to inpatients/ community patients including those travelling from the wider Trust area.
It involves the delivery of high quality interventions to meet the needs of the patient, developed in collaboration with the patient, their families and the wider MDT whilst following best practice guidelines.
This post is only open to those candidates who already have their NMC registration in place and have successfully completed the preceptorship programme. Please note: Newly qualified applicants or those due to qualify will be recruited via a separate process.

- Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council RNMH or RNLD (RNSC - CAMHS only ) - RGN (If appropriate - Advert must indicate if the role is open to RGN nurses to apply)
- To be recognised practice assessor / mentor or work towards in an agreed timescale
- Trained Clinical Supervisor (within 6 month probationary period)
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
Experience

- Working with people with mental ill health / learning disabilities
- Working in a person centred therapeutic organisation
- Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
- Working in a multi-disciplinary team

Knowledge

- Evidence based knowledge of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field
