Are you a Clinical Research Practitioner, Physiologist or Biomedical Scientist with a passion for Clinical and Translational Research?
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled, motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Research Practitioner/Physiologist/Biomedical Scientist to join our established Anaesthetics research team, based at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and the MSk Lab, at Imperial College London. The successful candidate will be working on a portfolio of interventional and non-interventional clinical and applied physiology research studies with relevance to Anaesthesia.
You will possess excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills in order to support participants and work effectively with colleagues while also raising the profile of research within the Trust. You will be required to collaborate closely with leading investigators, neurophysiologists, bioengineers and other research team members. You will be required to manage your own workload. A proactive, flexible and solution orientated approach is essential.
The post-holder will be part of a small and dynamic team, so be competent to work independently as well as part of a team.
Main duties of the job
As a Band 5 Clinical Research Nurse/Practioner you will be responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways for patients and carers participating in research.
This will involve the recruitment, education and monitoring of research participants and the collection and documentation of accurate data.
You will work collaboratively with the research team and the wider multidisciplinary team in the management of your own caseload of research patients.
You will act as a knowledgeable resource for staff, researchers, research participants and patients, alongside a working knowledge and compliance with local, national and international research regulations.
You will contribute to the development of local policies related to all aspects of the research process and contribute to the training and supervision of staff and researchers.
