Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
Dietetics
Developing, implementing and supporting a care pathway for appropriate prescribing and monitoring of oral nutrition supplements within Barking, Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge. This will lead to improved management of malnutrition and support effective and appropriate prescribing of Oral Nutritional Supplements (ONS).
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with dietitians, Medicines management teams, Integrated Care Board, nursing and residential homes, community and acute teams.
Patient-Centered Care: Demonstrate sensitivity, non-judgment, and professionalism in dealing with patients. Provide advice in a considerate manner.
Professional Development: Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and training opportunities
Communication and Time Management: Possess excellent communication and time management skills to efficiently coordinate tasks and interactions with patients, carers, and fellow health professionals.
Line Management and Training
Experienced in student training
Flexibility: Be able to travel efficiently to fulfill job requirements. The role may involve travel across the three boroughs - Barking, Dagenham, Redbridge, and Havering.

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of �4,313 to a maximum of �5,436 p.a. pro rata for part time).

- Dietetic degree or equivalent
- HCPC registeration
- post registration experience in nutrition support and dietetics and commitment to CPD
Desirable
- Membership of the British Dietetic Association
Experience

- Minimum of 18 months post-registration experience in a range of clinical areas including nutrition support
- Ability to provide supervision, support & guidance to junior member of staff & students
- Line management experience.
Knowledge
Essential
- An awareness of NHS priorities
- Clinical knowledge & experience in managing patients requiring nutrition support with other nutrition related diseases such as diabetes, cancer, and malnutrition.
- Demonstrates collaboration & MDT working

- Effective organisational skills - to be able to prioritise and manage own workload within time & financial constraints.
