We have an exciting opportunity within Cirencester Hospital as a Band 6 Staff Nurse!

The role of the Registered Nurse working clinically with team support the efficient running of the Outpatients Department to enable patients to receive care closer to home from visiting Specialists including Nurses, Allied Health Professionals and other Consultants/Registrars in their field of speciality. Staff will help to promote the health and well-being of the Service users, sign posting services users to additional services , providers for health and social care.

Main duties of the job

  • Support the Senior Sister as clinical lead supporting all junior staff and to cover when Senior sister off site .
  • Flexibility working within time of 08.00 hrs to 20.00 hrs Monday to Friday
  • Develop their knowledge and expertise on People Management (Human Resources) policies to support their own development
  • Responsible for their development in understanding budgetary constraints and controls.
  • Responsible for the safe use, inspection, maintenance and security of all goods and equipment, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained at all times.
  • Review and appraise processes and policies to allow for continuous improvement within the Trust which ensure delivery of bestpractice.
  • Carry out individual risk assessments and contribute to the management of risks in line with Trust Policy.
  • Implement and conform to Trust and Departmental Infection Control policies and procedures.
  • Take responsibility for own development and ensuring knowledge and skills are up to date using clinical audit in order to improve thestandards of patient care and reflective practice in preparation for on-going re-validation.
  • To work in other departments or Hospitals to ensure levels of safe staffing are maintained across the Trust.Ensure the privacy, dignity and safety of people is maintained at all times.

You will be required to: Deliver a safe and effective patient centred care to our service users, their families and carers Ensure the clinical care requirements of patients are communicated effectively. Responsible, for supervising, developing, mentoring newly qualified staff, non-qualified staff, students, volunteers etc. To lead the team in the overall running of the department in the absence of a Senior Sister on duty and ensuring safe staffing levels -including informing senior staff/managers of any problems and providing solutions. Participate in clinics, acting as a chaperone when required. Undertake assessments and making onward appropriate referrals. To be competent in the administration of medications as prescribed by Consultants. Responsible for ensuring patients records are kept up to date, accurate and in line with the Trusts record keeping policy. .
