An exciting opportunity has opened up for a highly motivated and dynamic qualified nurse.
We are a 12 bedded unit that operates Monday to Saturday afternoon. We are nurse-led and specialise in elective orthopaedic surgery with the aim of getting our joint replacements home the day of surgery.
We work closely with our physiotherapy and occupational therapy teams to provide a high quality standard of care.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to deliver a high standard of care to a range of patients pre and post-operatively and provide them with all the necessary information for a safe discharge home.
To continue to support and educate our students and apprentices in the surgical environment.
You will be expected to provide high standards of care to those patients accessing our services. You should demonstrate excellent communication skills and have a flexible approach to your work.

- To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care working as a member of the ward team under the direction of the Ward Manager.
- To be responsible for the organising and co-ordination of nursing services in the ward/dept. in the absence of senior staff on a regular basis.
- To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- To be responsible for all nursing care standards and to maintain high clinical standards.
- To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.
