The Site Nurse Practitioner will function autonomously within a team of Clinical Nurse Practitioners, Site Nurse practitioners, Patient Flow and Site Services lead by the Senior Nurses. The Site Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for delivering the operational management of the UHW and UHL sites during the day and the out of hours. The post will involve the individual being a key decision maker, working with all clinical boards, Emergency Unit and the senior on call managers.
The post holder will have proven advanced clinical skills and be able to work independently as part of the out of hours team, delivering high quality, timely care to patients in the out of hours period.
Main duties of the job
Manage the patient flow, including implementing the UHB emergency admissions escalation policy which involves accumulation of data quickly and accurately often under pressure, which entails being physically present in high pressured areas such as EU. Communicating action plans with the Senior Manager on call.
Use expert knowledge to ensure the timely and appropriate placement of patients in line with UHB priorities and rules.
The post holder will be proactive in meeting UHB Quality Standards, with patient safety central to all decisions. The post holder will work with the Head of Operations to identify constraints that impede the timely delivery of patient care.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
