An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join the Orthopaedic Outreach Team in Central Manchester - based at Alexandra Park Health Centre within the Integrated Community Rehabilitation Service (ICRS).
We are looking for a candidate with a wide variety of rotational experience including Orthopaedics who is keen to develop their skills further. Experience in community rehabilitation would be desirable although not essential.
This post provides a unique opportunity to use your specialist Occupational Therapy skills in the rehabilitation of orthopaedic patients who have recently been discharged home following a hospital admission. The post will involve delivering care to these patients in their own homes across Central Manchester.
The ICRS includes Home Physiotherapy, Post-Covid Rehabilitation, Falls, Orthopaedic Outreach and Community Occupational Therapy. You will be based within the Orthopaedic Outreach Team whilst providing support as needed across the ICRS. This provides an excellent varied opportunity to use your clinical skills across different areas.
If you are an enthusiastic and well-motivated HCPC registered occupational therapist with good communication, clinical and organisational skills and with an interest in specialising in Orthopaedic Rehabilitation, this is an exciting opportunity for developing your skills.

Management of patients with a wide variety of orthopaedic conditions including bothtrauma and elective orthopaedics and major trauma.
Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants hold a UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for business purposes to enable travel between sites and to patient homes.

- Working in a variety of settings including patients own residence. As required for the wider service you may be expected to work in clinics and to hold virtual consultations.
- To be responsible for your own clinical caseload completing initial assessments, appropriate goal setting and interventions to address patients' rehabilitation needs.
- To work as part of the wider Community Rehabilitation Services as required to meet the demands of the services in other areas.
- To support the Team Lead in the development of the service through keeping abreast of evolving research and evidence-based practice
- To complete initial assessments, appropriate goal setting and interventions to address patients' rehabilitation needs.
- To supervise the Rehabilitation Assistant to support with individualised treatment programmes.
- Good IT, written and verbal communication skills are important as the post holder will be required to liaise with a wide range of health care professionals, patients, and carers. Applicants will need to be flexible, able to work alone and as part of a team.
- The individual will take responsibility for the education of students.
