The Deputy Nurse Director role is a key position with the care group management team, responsible to the Nurse Director. The post holder will support the Nurse Director and the wider care group in the day to day delivery of clinical business of the service with a primary focus of the delivery of high standards of patient care and services with the care group.
We are seeking passionate, experienced, highly motivated, and skilled senior nurse leader to join our team of Deputy Nurse Directors. Attributes must include proven professional leadership of nurses and nursing.
The successful candidate should also demonstrate experience of leading and developing the nursing workforce, measuring and improving standards of care and the patient experience, in accordance with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, controls and resources.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the Nurse Director across the full range of duties, providing strong leadership and professional advice across the multi-professional team to enable high quality patient centred services and care.
The successful candidate will be actively involved with the governance agenda, working closely with the Medical Clinical Governance Leads and the Care Group Governance Lead, providing support and advice relating to clinical and non-clinical risk.
The post holder will be expected to represent nursing at Trust and National level and will lead on specific projects and work streams on behalf of the Care Group and the Trust.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse on part 1 or 12 of the Nurses and Midwives Council.
- Proven leadership skills
- 1st or higher degree
- Masters Qualification or actively working towards
- Recognised management/leadership qualification.
Desirable
- Recognised qualification in the sphere of clinical governance e.g. Audit, Health & Safety, Law, Clinical and Non-clinical Risk.
Experience
Essential
- Significant post-registration experience of working effectively in a relevant multi-professional environment a considerable amount of which must have been at middle management level and have included effectively managing staff, budgets and high-quality patient centred acute services.
- Evidence of contributing to, and effectively implementing nursing strategy.
- Experience of developing and delivering robust healthcare governance systems.
- Evidence of patient experience management and development of robust learning and feedback process to enhance patient experience and outcomes.
- Experience of managing complex situations
