The role of the Estates Officer is a development role and will be supported within the specialist engineering team. The post holder will be expected to undertake a range of training courses including shadowing, project work and secondments.
The post holder will support the delivery of specialist engineering activities to all wards and departments within a multidisciplinary environment, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and legal requirements.
Specialist engineering services are defined as but not limited to systems covered both HTM's and statutory instruments, i.e., Medical Gas, Pressure Systems, HV/LV Voltage, Passenger Lifts, Water Systems, Ventilation Systems etc.
They will support the Senor Specialist Engineer in ensuring competency is maintained across the in-house team by delivering specialist engineering training and mentoring. They will support in the development of technicians and apprentices, compiling and monitoring training programs.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the management of key specialist engineering service contracts and will act as a lead in designated service areas commensurate with their specialty ensuring appropriate audits, contact management and remedial actions are delivered. Will support in delivery and prioritisation of the actions identified in Authorising Engineers and highly complex technical reports.
Maintain, operate and review pre-planned maintenance programme related to specialist engineering and complex technical subjects reviewing working practices and procedures where required.
The post holder will be required to participate in the Estates out of hour's on-call arrangements and undertaking Authorised Person responsibilities for specific engineering systems as required.

- Qualified to Degree Level in Engineering/Building Services or HNC/HND Mechanical/Electrical Engineering with significant management experience
- Experience in Operational maintenance in a Mechanical, Electrical or Building service discipline or equivalent significant experience
- Be at or working towards Membership of a Professional Institution e.g. IHEEM, IEE, IET IMechE, CIBSE
- ISOH Managing Safely
- A recognised training qualification/apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical Services
