Are you interested in a career in the field of adult eating disorders? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Registered Dietitian to join our established Adult Eating Disorders Service in Durham Tees Valley.
This post provides an opportunity to work as part of our multi-disciplinary team for the Adult eating disorder service both inpatient and outpatient across Durham Tees Valley. The role includes multiple locations: Imperial Avenue community team in Norton, Adult eating disorder day service at Imperial Avenue Norton and the regional inpatient eating disorders facility at West Park Hospital in Darlington. The successful post holder will also work alongside several dietitians and nutritionists in the area of adult eating disorders. The post holder will provide clinical leadership in the specialist field of adult eating disorders for other members of the nutrition and dietetic team. In addition to the wide range of clinical duties the post holder will have the opportunity to participate in policy development, audit, research activities, pathway development, staff and student training.
Main duties of the job
The clinical aspect of this role covers the Teesside, Durham and Darlington locality. We provide full assessment of nutritional needs provide input to formulation meetings and management of physical health. Involvement would also include supporting supervision and development of policies and procedures, highlighting the specialist dietetic knowledge that may be included.
In addition to the wide range of clinical duties the post holder will provide clinical leadership in the specialist field of Eating Disorders and provide clinical supervision. There will be the opportunity to participate in service development, audit, research activities, pathway development and ongoing training needs of the clinical teams.
We have regular speciality team meetings to develop skills and provide peer support. We can provide training and support to engage with the complex needs of the patient group. We work closely with other health professionals colleagues and often deliver joint care work.
We have a robust clinical and management supervision structure and support and promote continued professional training and development.
The postholder will provide clinical leadership in the specialist field of adult eating disorders for other members of the nutrition and dietetic team. In addition to the wide range of clinical duties the post holder will have the opportunity to participate in policy development, audit, research activities, pathway development, staff and student training.

The successful post holder will also be part of the wider dietetic team within Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust, which is an established, dynamic team of Dietitians, Nutritionists, Associate Practitioners and Dietetic Assistants working in a number of clinical areas throughout Teesside, Darlington, County Durham, North Yorkshire, York and Selby. We have several experienced Clinical Lead Dietitians in the areas of adult eating disorders, adult mental health, children and young people's eating disorders, learning disabilities, older people and forensics. We are have developed a high profile as a good quality dietetic service at both local and national levels and are the largest mental health and LD dietetic team in the UK. We have strong links with the Mental Health Specialist Group of the BDA and are committed to providing first class professional development

Candidates should be a Registered Dietitian with substantial clinical experience in dietetics, and a keen interest in development and knowledge of the national drivers for Eating Disorders.
Candidates should hold a M.Sc. in a health-related subject or demonstrate a commitment to complete this within an agreed timescale. They should have excellent communication and IT skills. Regular clinical and managerial supervision will be provided and there will be a strong emphasis on Continued Professional Development and specialist training.
