The post holder will be responsible for improving the quality of care received by individuals with a learning disability and autistic people within the acute hospital setting by ensuring both local and national best practice is integrated within the Trust. They will act as a role model and clinical expert within the specialty of learning disability nursing across all areas of the Trust, supporting clinical staff in the management of care planning for people with learning disabilities and autistic people.

• Registered Learning Disability Nurse or Registered Children's or Adults Nurse.
• A recognised teaching and assessing qualification.

Experience/ Knowledge

• Substantial post-registration experience of working with adults, children and young people with a learning disability and autism at Band 6 or equivalent level.
• Experience of working in an acute hospital Trust.

• Experience of line managing junior staff.
