We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Oncology/Haematology nurse to join our Oncology/Haematology Acute Oncology team on a permanent contract, as a band 6 Acute Oncology CNS.

Main duties of the job

The acute oncology service supports newly diagnosed cancer patients and patients with a cancer of unknown primary. You will work cross site and work independently as well as part of a team. You will also work with and support the Oncology/Haematology Helpine team.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • RGN
  • Teaching Qualification


Desirable

  • Post Grad qualification in oncology/palliative care


Experience

Essential

  • Considerable experience of working in oncology / haematology nursing services
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of audit.


Desirable

  • Experience in service development/change management.
  • Implementation of audit findings and outcome reviews.


Training

Essential

  • Evidence of maintaining skills in assessment and management of acute oncology
  • Demonstrate evidence of training around treatment regimens for acute oncology
