Community Neurology Dietitian

We are offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Dietitian to develop their specialist experience within community neurological rehabilitation working with the teams Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, Nurses, Rehabilitation Assistants and Consultants, where a multidisciplinary approach is key to our service delivery.
We require a Dietitian with proven experience of working with neurological conditions, complex case management and multidisciplinary team working, as well as a willingness to embrace an interdisciplinary approach.
We are looking for a self-motivated, team player who will continue to promote their profession whilst being flexible and supportive to the needs of our passionate and collaborative team. In return, as well as regular clinical supervision and appraisals, we have regular in-service training and other CPD opportunities.
Main duties of the job
You will support people with neurological conditions to optimise their nutritional well-being in a range of dietetic domains including oral nutrition support, weight management, diabetes, home enteral feeding, and stroke secondary prevention, which in turn helps people meet their rehab goals.
The right person will have skills in behaviour change and understand the physical, cognitive and communication barriers that our patients face in managing lifestyle changes.
You will use complex case management skills and a multidisciplinary approach to meet the needs of patients.There will be opportunities for complex case management, audit and service development. You will provide line management and support to Band 6 Dietitians and deliver staff training and assess competencies in key nutritional areas e.g. in nutritional screening and delivery of first line nutritional advice.

The post holder will be responsible for setting professional direction and delivering highly specialist clinical care to their own caseload and service within their speciality area. In doing so, they will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient centred programmes of care ensuring that they practice within their sphere of competence and knowledge. The post holder will work to professional and regulatory body codes, standards and guidance at all times ensuring that their practice, and that of others, is grounded in evidence based theoretical and practical knowledge. They will be responsible for developing new and innovative clinical practices responding to emerging knowledge and techniques and working with other services where appropriate to make improvements. In addition, the post holder will be responsible for the mainentance of professional standards and competencies within their defined clinical area,
