Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the provision of a highly specialist clinical service, from acute to palliativeand terminal stages of care, to patients across the lifespan referred to the Trust with a wide rangeof communication and/or swallowing disorders secondary to cancer and/or its treatment.
To take the SLT lead role in the development and delivery of teaching and training programmesin neuro oncology for professionals and other staff, as required
To be responsible for disseminating knowledge in neuro oncology, within the Trust and on anational and international basis, through reading, participation in research and advanced clinicalpractice.

- To use and demonstrate specialist knowledge to inform sound clinical judgements/decisionmaking for complex case management and advise others on the same, often in the absence ofrobust evidence base.

- Master/MSc or equivalent of post-graduate specialist training and membership/committee role in relevant CEN's (e.g. AAC, Dysphagia, Head and Neck CEN)
- Attended highly specialist/expert short courses relevant to working with adults with communication and /or swallowing disorders
- Attended post graduate dysphagia training leading to independent practice in adults
- Attended highly specialist post graduate study relevant to neuro or Head & Neck cancer e.g advanced dysphagia course
- Post graduate training/experience in videofluoroscopy with dysphagia in adults
- Post graduate training in the use of AAC with children and adults.
