Sister/Charge Nurse
Department: Macmillan Day Unit
Band 6 �35,392 -�42,618 per annum, pro rata if Part time
Hours: 37.5 & 22.5 hours per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to assist in the management of our Haematology/Oncology Systemic Anti-Cancer suite in the cancer centre at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will assist to lead the Nursing team alongside the current senior structure within the Macmillan Haematology & Oncology Day suite, collaborating to ensure the provision of high quality, visible, professional leadership, setting and maintaining standards of clinical excellence, improving outcomes and experiences for patients, families, and carers within the SACT service.
The Cancer Centre team aspire to provide exceptional care for the public of Milton Keynes and as such we are looking for a passionate Band 6 Registered Nurse qualification in Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy is essential, to assist us to achieve our aspirations. Are you that person?
This rapidly expanding modern and busy unit offers many training opportunities for their staff, recent developments have led to the opening of our cancer centre in February 2020. This developing service is supported by a forward thinking & supportive Management Team, Nurse Practitioners, Palliative Care Team & Macmillan Information and Support Centre.

Main duties of the job
To provide effective, professional, and managerial leadership to staff and to act as the Unit representative in the absence of the Senior Ward Sister/charge nurse. To ensure that care delivered is of the highest standard and in line with all Trust policy.
The post holder will deliver specialist care for all patients on the unit with specific expertise in Haematology/Oncology & chemotherapy patients.
