The role of Monitoring Officer is to provide an efficient and effective support service to the FM Department, Service Users, and Trust Personnel by monitoring the delivery of our Contracted Services.

Take responsibility for developing and implementing robust andeffective auditing schedule's that measure all performances undertaken by our service providers. The post holder must conduct both scheduled and unannounced audits across the agreed locations ensuring compliance against legislative and published guidelines.

Be held accountable and responsible for producing regular reports on contract delivery, achievements, failures and any corrective action plans taken to closure and compliance. Good communication skills and an eye for detail are essential. The Dual Service Monitoring Officer will assist as a support service to ensure minor projects are delivered from conception to closure.

***These roles are permanent weekend cover***

Main duties of the job

To provide support and assist the Facilities Manager/Head of Estates with monitoring operational performance standards within hard and soft facilities management services.

To carry out audits and inspections across all FM services ensuring compliance against all legislative and published guidelines, including, but not limited to, the National Specifications for Cleanliness, PAS 5748 and the Environment Protection Act 1990, model hospital and associated HTMs (i.e. medical gas and waste)

To provide a full administration service, maintenance of records and general administration duties.

The Elective Surgical Hub at King George Hospital is one of eight to be accredited as part of a national scheme the Care Quality Commission has raised the ratings forurgent and emergency careat Queen's and King George hospitals anddata released by NHS Englandshowed that the Trust was the most improved in 2023 for reducing waits for emergency care.

We are particularly proud of our regional Neurosciences Centre Radiotherapy Centre Hyper Acute Stroke Unit and dedicated breast care service at King George Hospital. We're also part of the North East London Cancer Alliance.

Person Specification

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Educated to A level standard or equivalent experience.
  • CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety Awareness in Catering.


Desirable

  • Evidence of continuing professional development.


EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Demonstrable contract management experience of Soft FM contracts e.g. Catering, Cleaning.
  • Demonstrable contract management experience of Hard FM contracts.


Desirable

  • Experience of managing budgets.


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Essential

  • Knowledge of contract management and monitoring processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of NHS requirements of PLACE, New Hospital food Standards.


Desirable

  • Knowledge of Controls Assurance processes.
  • Effective appraisal and personal development skills.
