West Cheshire Joint Services are excited to invite applications from experienced MSK Physiotherapists seeking to deliver the highest level of clinical care from a general practice setting. We have a proud history of an established First Contact Practitioner service which has served as a national benchmark, & are now ready to expand our team of FCP trainee (pay band 7) or fully qualified Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners (pay band 8a). We are accepting applications from experienced MSK practitioners or from experienced MSK practitioners who would require further training to achieve advanced practitioner status.

All successful applicants will be expected to maintain clinical excellence and to continue an advanced practice portfolio.

You may be required to work on other wards/ departments within the Trust at short notice in the event of hospital pressures/major civilian disaster.

We offer a relocation package of up to �8,000

Relocation package is for anyone who would need to relocate in order to take up employment with CWP.

To be eligible for the payment, you must live more than 40 miles from the base/location of the post you are applying for & you need to relocate to within 15 miles of the new base.

Main duties of the job

The role will be based within primary care, whereby the FCP will work as part of the GP team within City Walls Medical Practice Chester. You will be the first point of contact for patients with undiagnosed MSK disorders, and will need highly developed differential diagnostic skills to ensure patients are managed safely, efficiently and effectively. You will direct the care pathway for your patients autonomously, including assessment and diagnostics, provision of diagnosis, appropriate self care advice or onward referral as indicated. You should be working towards, hold or to be about to complete your MSc or have completed MSc (level 7) modules in relevant subjects.This role is designed to establish MSK expertise in Primary Care, and as such you will work closely in practices to build excellent working relationships with the PCN team members. You will bring expert MSK knowledge to your PCN, and as such will be a resource to the practice team. You will need to have clear evidence of team working and the ability to develop effective and efficient services. Although the role will be primarily Primary Care based, you will also be a key resource for the wider MSK and Physiotherapy team, and will have ring fenced 'hub' time provided (20% WTE pro rata) to achieve and maintain all employment and clinical governance priorities.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Diploma/Degree in physiotherapy
  • HPC Registered
  • Evidence of relevant specialised, validated postgraduate courses/CPD at Masters level


Desirable

  • Hold or be working towards a Master's degree or equivalent in a specialist area
  • Injection therapy


Knowledge and Expertise

Essential

  • Advanced specialist scientific and clinical knowledge in musculoskeletal rehabilitation in line with evidence based practice
