Due to maternity leave our Critical Care Outreach service is offering an opportunity for an experienced nurse with critical care experience to join the team on on a 6 month secondment with the possibility of this being extended to a year.
You would be joining a highly skilled team, working closely with the intensive care unit and other acute teams across the hospital to support and manage the care of deteriorating and critically ill patients.
We are looking for an individual with critical care skills, which they are keen to develop and who is able to work under pressure while managing their own workload.
Band 6/7 - dependent on experience.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work alongside the CNS/ANP for Outreach to deliver a patient -focused programme of care, which addresses the complex and changing health needs of all deteriorating and critically ill patients across the Trust.
The post holder will display excellent communication and leadership skills, working with the CNS/ANP to provide the best care within given resources and the best use of the patient's environment. The post holder will support other practitioners delivering care.

Demonstrate excellent personal communication. Establish and maintain effective two-way communication channels with individuals and groups. Demonstrate appropriate assertiveness and ability to challenge others when the rights of patients and others may be infringed.
Contribute towards the achievement of the best standard of nursing care across the Trust. Facilitate care, based on best research evidence that is holistic and patient centred. Facilitate patient involvement in both decisions affecting their care and wellbeing, and in service development. Practice in accordance with the professional, ethical and legal codes of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and Trusts protocols and guidelines. Be accountable for own practice and for the delegation of care given to more junior colleagues, support workers, students, and other health care staff

- Registered Nurse ( Pt 1/12)
- ENB 998/ Slice, C& G 730 or equivalent
- Health related degree or working towards, or able to demonstrate evidence of working at that level
- Critical care qualification or equivalent.
- Evidence of leadership, management and speciality development

- NVQ Assessor
