The Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking applications for our Head of Sustainability, this is an exciting role with the opportunity to make change across the Northern Care Alliance to deliver our sustainability ambitions outlined in the Vision 10 strategy.

You will be part of the senior team in Estates and Facilities with close working with our Board to lead and support our sustainability agenda at the Northern Care Alliance.

Main duties of the job

You will lead, develop and implement the Trust's approach to environmental sustainability, and provide senior professional management of the Trusts full range of environmental services including energy and water management, waste management, carbon reduction, sustainable and active travel. You will be integral to ensuring the Trust's environmental legal compliance, embedding sustainable design and construction in our capital programmes, maintain environmental management systems and promote our sustainability ambitions to the wider organisation. You will work closely with clinical teams and proactively embed environmental sustainability and efficiency across the organisation engaging key stakeholders including PFI partners to deliver the Trust's vision to become a leading NHS Trust for environmental sustainability.

Job responsibilities

We are looking for candidates experienced within the sustainability sector who are able to operate at a strategic and operational level to deliver change. You will bring expertise to the organisation in energy management, environmental sustainability and the legislative frameworks required for trust compliance. You will have experience of working at a senior management level and with a range of stakeholders. You will demonstrate a strong passion for sustainability and excellent interpersonal skills for working with colleagues.

Qualifications

Essential

  • oMaster's Degree (or equivalent specialist


Desirable

  • oChartered Environmentalist (CEnv), or member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) or Chartered Institute of Waste Management (CIWM).


Knowledge
