We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated band 7 Cardiac Physiologist, specialising in Echocardiography, to work across Scarborough Hospital and in a new Community Diagnostic Centre which is due to open in October.
The successful candidate will be BSE accredited and have experience in performing transthoracic echocardiography, stress echocardiography and transoesophageal echocardiography.
The Cardio respiratory department is undergoing an exciting period of development, as well as the opening of the Community Diagnostic hub, the department is also looking at developing physiologist led specialist clinics such as Exercise Stress Echos and Contrast Echos, making this role perfect for candidates who are looking for a new challenge or build on their existing experience/knowledge.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will perform transthoracic echocardiography, writing factual reports to BSE standard, rotating between inpatient and outpatient lists, discussing with senior colleagues any concerns regarding the patient or test results, as per departmental protocols. In addition, you will work alongside consultants in TOE, Stress Echo and oncology clinics.
They will also need to be able to triage effectively as well as supporting the development of GP pathways. There will be the opportunity to participate in aspects of service management, including quality assurance, service and workforce planning as well as assisting with supervising students if applicable.
You will work as part of the team and will be expected to contribute to our high quality and efficient services. We require the successful candidate to be confident in working independently and autonomously.
