An exciting career opportunity has arisen for 2 Finance Business Partners to join our Finance Team at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

The Finance Business Partners are responsible for the provision of a high-quality finance service to a range of directorates and have line management responsibilities for several staff. They are a key member of the team working closely with the senior managers and Directors across the Trust. They are the senior finance lead in the directorates and therefore take a lead role in the directorate board meetings, Performance reviews and in providing challenge to the management team from both a financial and a business point of view.

Main duties of the job

  • To Partner the senior Operational Teams within their dedicated Directorate ensuring they get the business and financial support and challenge they need to run their Directorate. The role works in close partnership with the directorate to help the successful operation.
  • To lead a team responsible for the provision of an expert financial management service to a portfolio of clinical units and/or corporate departments.
  • To lead and be responsible for the monthly reporting for these areas, income, and expenditure, ensuring that information produced is robust, accurate and owned by appropriate individuals.
  • To support the Finance staff in the development of Cost Improvement Program schemes (CIPs) and the financial modeling of service developments, ensuring that the information produced is robust, accurate and that plans are deliverable and have been challenged to ensure efficiency.
  • To support the Associate Director of Financial Management with the development and implementation of the Trust's medium to long-term strategy.
  • To be responsible for the management and development of a team of Finance professionals including professional development, statutory and mandatory training, PDRs, and performance.
  • To support the Associate Director of Financial Management in the delivery of corporate tasks and objectives, assuming responsibility for the delivery of a range of tasks.

  • Significant financial management experience at a senior level
